    Sightron S11 Big Sky or VX3I ?

Looking for a scope for a 7mm SAUM. Have sort of decided on either the Sightron S11 Big sky in 2-12 or the VX3Ii n 4.5-14 both are the same price. The Sightron is a couple of ounces lighter, the Leupold has more adjustment. Any reason for one over the other? Rifle is a Rem Mod 7 max distance will be 500 yards.

Nothing wrong that I know of with the big sky 11
However if it was my money I'd choose the leupy.
I bought an older Sightron S111 off a forum member here a couple, maybe three years ago now for a friend, he has had absolutely no problem with it at all.
I have had two leupold 4.5 x14 VX3's with the fine reticle and side focus and had m1 turrets put on them, again no issues.
I cannot give you a reasoned argument why, just an opinion.

I love my VX3I. Never looked through a Sightron so can't compare sorry.

Just brought a SIII 3.5-10x44 LR MD CM for my new 7mmsaum.
Mate has one on his rem mag plenty of scope for deer to 800.
I believe SII's arent on the same level as SIII's @nor-west

Don't forget the Sightron S-tac too.. Got one in 3-16x42 Pretty Damn good scope... They do a higher mag one too 4-20 too

    2016 Sightron STAC 4-20X50 and 3-16X42

You can get these through Reloaders - I chose the MOA 3 reticle for mine.

Same glass I believe in the big sky and S111 but 25 mill as opposed to a 30 mill tube.

Yes considered this but weight of the STAC took it out of contention (In my view) along with Vortex and Nikon.

Have owned and on-sold Sightron BS11 and 'upgraded' with a Leupold VX3l. Very happy now

Nothing wrong with either, have a big sky and previous vx3, Leupold will probably be a bit better unless you can jump to a S111 sightron. Not looked through the new STacs but would imagine is pretty good. So much choice of good optics, Bushnell always good value without the price tag also.

Thanks guys went for a light weight German option 3-15 with high def glass, a certain distributer in N.Z. gets antsy if you import them
