    Single Shot 22 restoration

    hi team
    what is this single shot?
    I can make out on the barrel:
    "NEW HAVEN CONN USA"
    "MODEL 25 22S L - LR"

    my grandfather thinks he acquired it around 40 to 50 years ago.

    thought it would be a good basic project for my son and i to tidy it up. No problem with sanding back the stock and staining or clear painting but what is the best way to tidy up the rusty steel?
