    Skinner Sights ....Any Good?

I'm thinking of replacing the rear sight on my Rossi 92 .44mag with a barrel mount Skinner apeture sight.

    Rossi Firearms

    Barrel Mount

Getting old eyes now and dont want to mount optics on this rifle.

    Has anyone done this?

    How did it work out?

    Cheers
    Pete

    Thats good news Gimp.

    How was the fit?

Did you have to change the front sight?

And most importantly does the front sight look sharp again?

i put one on the guide gun, i don't think i should have bothered with the higher front blade as i had to file it down to about the same as the original.
overall very happy with it, but it mite pay to check the original front sight beforereplacingg itGregeg

Fit is fine. It clamps to the dovetail on the receiver. With factory front sight it was ~10cm high at 20 meters with the rear sight adjusted as low as possible, so a new front was needed

My front sight has always looked sharp because I am young and privileged to have good vision.

Thanks for the replys Greg and Gimp.

Gimp just wait until you hit 45 ..... First thing you'll notice is you can't see the rugby score on the telly very well and your front sight will be blurry. Then it's off to the optometrist and a few hundy later you'll be seeing good as gold again.

    Cheers
