    Smartphone Wind Meter

    Hey team,

Have been thinking about investing in a kestrel and came across this wind meter during my search. It plugs into a smartphone 3.5mm headphone jack. This can be linked to the Strelok and BallisticArc apps. Looks like it may be a good option depending on the accuracy of the wind meter. Does anyone have any experience with them?

    Cheers

    Liam

I’ve used the Bluetooth one and they work fine. I now use a kestrel because I’m sick of using a phone for ballistics and worrying about battery life at a match of the phone. You could buy my Bluetooth one for $100. Was $150 from memory.

Thanks @Cowboy06 I could be interested in the Bluetooth version. Did you use it with either Strelok or Ballistcarc apps? Do you know if you can pair a bluetooth rangefinder to these apps such as the sig saucer bdx or Leica crf2700r? Cheers

I know it worked with ballistic arc. Pretty sure it would work with strelok. Use the sig app if using sigs

    They work awesome.
Unfortunately my new phone doesn't have the 3.5mm plug so it's now effectively redundant.

What phone do you have? If it’s an iPhone I know it works with the lightning to 3.5mm converter.
