After being paid out for my ARs i had been looking around for a semi in 22 to replace, looked at the hammerli and the Scar .22 but settled on the Smith after watching reviews in the States.
The smith is mainly plastic but has a full steel barrel not a sleeve with small barrel insert. It is light at 5lbs and feels like going from the real deal to air soft.
At the range i was impressed with the trigger and the function, the bolt hold open all function same as an AR and last shot bolt locks back as well, after 80 rounds and a couple 10 round mag dumps i had no stoppages at all. The magpul sites adjusted easily and was only shooting low at 50 to begin with. The ammo i used was cci subs and Aquila standard velocity and both grouped about two inches at 50 with irons. Think i will mount a red dot or fit my 2-7 leupold and see how accurate it really is.
The other plus is it will take AR triggers so think i will fit my timney trigger that i kept. Cost me $1200 locally a lot of money for a 22 but it handles just like my 4 ARs.
