    Sorry another Thermal question

    Hi
    Sorry another Thermal question 😊

We are getting really close to buying a thermal but just wondering.

The people that have purchased a Monocular or Binocular thermal, and have also purchased a Thermal scope, do you still use your monocular or has this become redundant. We are only going to purchase one not both items.

I am keen to hear on others experiences.

We hunt on an area with a lot of pine trees, (currently being cut down) and will use the thermal mostly during the day.

    Cheers

Get the monocular. Pain in the arse trying to scan and hold up rifle at same time. Don’t need thermal scope if you’re shooting mostly during the day, defeats the purpose.

If only getting one, 100% get the hand held.

Primary purpose of a thermal is finding not aiming. If you have the hand held you can use it with any rifle and you don’t need to hold the rifle up to your eye to look for stuff.

They are good for shooting with at night, but not essential.

scanning for animals with a scope is a breach of rule 2 of the firearms safety code which says "always point your rifle in a safe direction." Not really a good idea for that reason alone.
