    Spartan bipod

Just wondering if anyone uses the bedded gunsmith mounted adapter instead of the normal stud mounted one and there opinions.
I much prefer the flush mounted system that the gunsmith adapter provides but am a bit concerned about the strength of the fore stock under recoil after fitting it. Cheers

The ones in my hi-tech stocks seem great. Guy who fitted them wouldn't put one in my stug stock however as not enough material to bond to in his opinion. So i guess depends on your stock. Imagine std timber or plastic should be fine as long as there is enough material to bond to.

I have done a few now and successfully bedded them into bell and carson, fierce fury (carbon) and stug stock.
All have been rock solid and I tend to load my bipod up a bit.
I find it hard to believe your stug stock hasn't got enough material to bond with ? The one in my stug is right at the tip of the fore and there is plenty of material for it to bond to.
The flush mount is far superior to the adapter in strength and asthetics.
Post up a pic of your stug stock ?

If it's the one with the alloy bedding block be aware that the alloy "skeleton" goes almost all the way to the tip of the fore I had to spend a considerable amount of time with a dremel removing alloy from where I drilled the hole for the adapter. Still worth doing.
What I would suggest is to get a very fine drill bit and drill some holes from the inside of the barrel channel to try and find where the "skeleton" finishes they can later be tidied up with the epoxy that you'll be using for bedding the mount anyway.
Out of curiosity where is everyone getting their flush mounts these days ?

My cousins has fitted gunsmith type adapters to three of my rifles for me. All in laminated stocks. Wonderful neat solution. Just wish I could use this solution on my three Sauer 202.s.
