Thread: Spilt some paint on my AR

I thought you guys might be interested in this kind of thing. I spilt some paint on my AR after someone dared me to do it.
Paint used was plastikote for $16 a can from mitre 10 (cheap as chips).

Taped up the optics and sights, shoved some tissues into the magwell.


Taped off the shapes I wanted. At first I was going to use all tape, got impatient, cut some stecil shapes and just bluetacked them on.

Unfortunately I forgot to photograph a couple of steps. First I applied stencils, painted brown, then applied more stencils over the top and hit it with green.

Then bam - paint vomit.

Its missing the orange muzzle bit.

Oh shit. I'll put one on there when I get home.

We'll see how well it wears. I was inspired by NORWAY who just took an airbrush to all his S&B scopes.

I think it looks better without the orange bit, but yeah, the rest looks good.

you told me you wearnt a painter .....

Just curious but what prep did you have to do on the AR before the paint went on?

Thinners might of melted all that lego ah I mean plastic

I just wiped it with meths, taped it and then painted it.

Probably more polymer by weight in a sako stock than on that AR. ��
