    Sportco .22

Hi folks. Just wondering if anyone could help me with my predicament. I have a Sportco box magazine pump action .22. I bought it in a whim and so far has not successfully cycled rounds from magazine to chamber. It always gets stuck about halfway going in to the chamber. I can push a round in but is bloody tight and cannot getting enough camming action from the pump. I have had a titoo with the magazine but no difference.

What am I looking at? Feeding issue?

Tight chamber ..give it a polish..??

Thinking I might need to take it apart but need a drift punch (I think) to break it in half.

    Any clues ??

    Thanks in advance.

Nice looking little pump and considered one several years back. Mentioned it with local gunsmith who said he had one and never managed to get it cycling properly......

Have a play with it, with different ammos etc but if no success next step be hello trademe..

Sounds like it needs a real serious clean, or take it to a gunsmith

Thanks mudgripz....a bit of a clue there..
Have tried different ammo including shorts.. It might explain why it's pretty tidy...hardly being used cos I didn't cycle properly. I ile it cos it's a bit different than the average but mine all have to work. All my rifles get taken out n used ...eventually

You might PM Gundoc , the man has more experience on guns than anyone I know, I would be surprised if hadn't come across the model / problem before.

It might be that the chamber is peined slightly from dry firing.

If so I have a chamber swage that can easily fix this.

Unfortunately I won't be back in the country until late September

Happy to send it to you once I get home if needed.

    Cheers
    Pete
