    Spotting scope tripod suggestions

After suggestions for a tripod for spotting scope, needs to be packable, spotting will be done from a sitting position so doesn't have to be large, light would be a bonus, can always tie a rock to it if it's windy
The spotter is a 20-50 swaro so not massive

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

Hi, I've got a swaro as well, and sit it on a slik mini sprint 2
It's small and lightweight ideal for sitting positions and back pack hunting!
Sometimes it lacks stability on full magnification in windy conditions? But as you say you could
Hang a rock or something from it.

I've got a swaro spotter too & use a Sirui T025X. Carbon fibre. Light & packable. The ball head holds the spotter no problem. Some good youtube clips on it. I think sirui are a direct copy of the gitzo ones. Not too expensive either.

+1 for the Slik mini sprint 2. I use one with a Swaro ATS 65 spotter.
Changed the Slik ball head for a Manfrotto 494 as recommended by Greg Duley, works really well.

In issue 48 of NZ Hunter magazine Greg did an article on spotting scopes & tripods. In that article he commented the Manfrotto head was his preferred option as it has an extra friction adjustment and is smoother to use. It also has a thicker stem which reduces shimmy.
All seemed to make sense so that's what I went with.

Is this still the case? Looking at one of these Slik Mini Sprint 2's.. Reasonably priced.
