I use a SLIK 500G. It is a relatively light tripod at just over 500 grams.

Depends what you are after as far as weight is concerned over stability.

depends what you need one for, I had my son make me one for prone shooting, all the ones you can buy are over $200

I had to buy the camera "ball" but that is the best way to adjust it. The pole can move up and down and swivel as well for coarse adjustment.
Its best suited for flatter ground such as indoor small bore and out door full bore.

Most tripods have trouble getting low enough for prone work without ending up on your shooting mat ...lying down too

    And folds pretty compact

A decent head is a must depending on the size of your spotting scope.

One that came with my leupold, works fine and use it with my camera (sx50) need to find another insert piece to save swapping it out. Seems to take up a lot of space for a small height tripod, like the balancing bubble if setting camera up to video on uneven ground

Slik mini 2 for bench or field.

manfrotto o55b for birdwatching, ship watching and astronomy. Got tired of the stick legged things that shake in the breeze
