    Stevens 44 1/2..223 Win……(22-250 rimfire..I think)

I need a little help in finding the rightful owner of this and whether he still wants it.Over the years Ive sent over 20 Barrels back to kiwi by post or brought them in as personal luggage.this barrel was sent to me to be delivered back in kiwi.

It’s a Stevens 44 1/2 223 win..(I believe it was designed as a 22-250 rimfire single shot barrell)I could be wrong…….but its been sitting around in my gun room collecting dust(big clean out)..it came with several other items(which you need to identify)

The shipping and delivery of these items went to custard pre COVID ,and the lockdown and stoppage of shipping, transport etc of anything firearm related….not sure whether I can get it back to you,by either post or bringing it in personally ,…or if you still even want it……(please dont ask how I lost/misplaced the name and details,fc*ked if I know, not sure if it came with any)

It's a 225 Winchester barrel and it was for @Tentman but the world tipped on its ear with the CHCH shooting if I recall

225 Winchester was an attempt to compete with the 220 Swift
But the Wildcat 22-250 became a factory round at much the same time and the 225 died

Brass can be made from 30-30

Ah there was a 25 Rimfire long long before

Stevens did a few different 25 centerfires
    25-25
    25-21

Lots of small 25s to shoot only to 100 yards or in a gallery

But the small bore black powder are very tricky to shoot with fouling etc

Another cartridge I shall have to look up. You fellas really should add photos. Can be made from 30/30 brass sounds 22hp savage like.

Just one of a gazillion cartridges based on the 38-55 case including the .30 WCF (later 30-30). The rim would need to be turned down as the case was designed to fit a .308 bolt face and a short action. Designed to replace the .220 Swift and become the new hot shot centre fire .22. It did neither. It could have been the .22 Creedmoor.

Oh dear, I had forgotten about this, and I've since given the rifle it was intended for to Akaroa1. Oooops!

@A330driver - I'll be in touch when I get behind a real keyboard.
