Anybody know what the top stock is? All the seller knew was its composite of some description.

I took a bit of a punt on this one... the tip of the foreend is throwing me off also. Previous owner believes it to be an early mcmillan or hs precision, he was pretty vague but price was right
older mcmillan rem mod 7 stock possibly?
Should have put it's a rem 700 stock short action. Just didnt/dont know what flavour. All searches point toward early mcmillan
the schabel foreend reminded me of older mod 7 stocks dosent mean some one did get a custom stock for there 700
If could also be an early brown precision.
@Friwi may be on to something also
I bought an early Browns in 1989. Back when you had to bog, bed and paint it yourself. They were and still are a damned fine stock. If it is a Browns it might be a touch heavier than a modern CF stock but still a really stable and well made platform. Mine has seen thirty years of full on hunting and three barrels and over a couple bluffs and still going well even after repairs.
Mine is a browns. Epic stocks and light as
Yep you could buy them unfinished and do all the hard work. My uncle had bought 1/2 dozen or so of them and turned them into excellent rifles. I have two myself.
Have been told browns have their label tucked Into the recoil pad so will have a look when it turns up
Look where is the jointing line. On the vertical plan,it might not be a brown , but on the horizontal plane along the side of a stock is most likely is brown.
