    Stock makers

Anyone recommend a good stock maker in NZ.
I have a rifle that I want a stock made for and the local guy that was going to do it, is finished making them after he completes one he is working on.
I have purchased a bit of walnut for the rifle already and really only wanted the guy I know to do it. I have seen a lot of his work. Even guided foreign clients that have his stocks.
I'm in no hurry to get it done but if anyone can recommend a good guy to do it that would be great.

    Cheers

I'm not sure how to get hold of him but someone must have his contact details.

Yeah it's a shame. He was master class. I spoke with him today. He says it is taking him too long and requires too much concentration as he makes all his by hand. Not in a machine.

Garry Kowen over in central Otago makes a nice stock. He is pretty busy making knives at the moment though.
Here is a thread of some of his work

You should have got in line earlier with Dave and been the last stock...you mentioned it ages ago about getting him to do one. Mine was a lovely stock on the BSA he did, shouldn't have sold it....usual story.

I did ask him ages ago. He was all keen then, but he's had enough now that I am ready to have it done. I am bummed because I was counting on it and admire his craftsmanship.
