I’m curious to what others are using to stop the older exposed cds dials from turning, I’m using tape and it’s less than a perfect situation when it comes to using them to dial in, bicycle tube?

Hi Bill, I also have one of those older Leupold CDS scopes. I while ago I did some online research and found a thread on the subject which described putting a small ball bearing, or lead shot, under the turret, I think you need to drill a small hole in the underside of the cap. This then gives you a zerostop. let know if you are aware of this fix, if not I will try and find that thread again. I am also interested in other ideas for a fix.

Yeah mate I’m going to get a few of them to get the stop on the reverse turn
2mm is the size I’ve read
The whole turret moving as I’m climbing thru crap and putting it in and out of the gun bag moves my taller vxr turrets way more than I’m happy with

Yeah Ok, I will also watch with interest for solutions.

A piece of car tyre tube cut to form a shroud of skirt over and around the turret secured with zip ties works well for me. Start it just behind the forward mount. For a Zero stop, a piece of PVC pipe of the right diametre to fit over the turret base and cut to form a spacer works. The turret screws down and goes a few clicks past zero then just back it off to where the zero lines up and you know that you havent gone a full turn down from zero
