I have recently become very interested in these rifles. In particular the "Biathalon style " .22's
I am aware of one brand for sale on Gun Cities web site but looking for something nicer.
For the right rifle I would trade a A1 Sako .222

Take a look at Anshutz or Browning Maral
Blaser is where it’s at
Very nice -

I used to shoot target small bore with a 1913 and my dad had a 1917 (left handed - me right....) new, that came from factory with a 10 proof shot card, that was one hole group at 50m. Bloody nice bits of kit. Can't say that either of us could shoot that well though....... it certainly wasn't the rifle leading to bad shots.....
I'm keen on getting another one, and would like a straight pull as well (but not a blazer.....)
Yep, Anschutz 1727 straight pull would be my pick as well.
They are quite a bit heavier than the equivalent bolt action silhouette rifles (and more expensive).
There must be a lot more moving parts, like the Blaser, so perhaps not as good after a soaking in the proverbial feijoa crumble. Maybe not such a problem for a recreational .22.
Browning do a T bolt which is sort of a straight pull....
I think will has one on the rack not sure exactly what it is tho not really my thing
Yeah its definitely the price that stops me getting an Anshultz.
I looked at a T bolt, but it felt quite clunky and a little fragile in the action.
With the 1727 it looks like a nice slick action, but that 4 1/2 K .......wow
Volquartsen ( rebadged Summit T3 ) is another, handy that it swaps parts in general with the venerable 10/22 but I havent seen any in NZ.
Izmash would be a goer. And Lynx, but they dont appear to do a .22 anymore.
I dont know what it is about them, but I definitely think they are cool ( straight pulls )
Especially when held by a blonde Nordic goddess in Lycra :pacman:
I have a mate with an anshultz biathelon for sale. PM me if your interested and I'll give oyu his contact details
The action you are after I think is what is known as the fortner action, commonly purchased with Anshutz rifles for biathalon and similar.
I did track down a biathalon builder in the US that you could by actions or full rifles from including those with Fortner actions..
Altius Handcrafted Firearms - New Biathlon & Target Rifles
hope that helps..
straight pull rifles are for British fags who arent allowed real guns...!
Sorry, I can't help myself...
The correct spelling is Anschutz :)
Izhmash is one of the Russian Armoury manufacturers like Baikal, Toz etc. The straight pulls and the other .22 stuff like the Korshun, and SM2 are a special order item that they make but are not carried in stock like the Saigas (sporter AK actioned rifles). The centre fires like the Los (7.62x39, 308 or 9.3) are also made to order. These made to order models are much higher quality than you normally see. For example, The Bi 72KO A biathlons have an anshutz (A) barrel such is the grade of shooter they are designed for.
@marky123 thanks for the info, so you've been on the recieving end of a few straight pulls to know this obviously.
Anschütz
Don't know which one it is-I just know he had dramas with some reloaded ammo years ago-case got stuck and ended up tearing the whole base of the cartridge off trying to get it out.
he has a horrible temper so it would've been very funny (from a distance mind) watching him bash the bolt to get it out.
Dont want to forget the plastic washer in the Blaser either. Real hand grenade rifle those R93's. Rumour has it, Blaser owners lose 2 years off their expected life every time they pull the trigger.
Should anyone find one of these turd rifles (especially in 223Rem or 300WSM) message me and I will correctly dispose of it free of charge to you.
@marky123
Hmm, not British fags. They have the Lee option and so have no need to go pull straight (haha, note my great pun!).
Straight pulls are slower than the short pull of the Lee and anyway kill your hands if you do a lot of shooting (talking of full bore rifles here, not .22RF).

We have 22LR conversion kits coming for our Blaser R8.

@Stäger Sport Joel, do have an R93 Magnum bolt head and a mag insert that would suit 6.5PRC? (300 WinMag?)
standby
May be able to help. Spare parts trays reveal:
- MA L and R Blt head for R93 available. $400 and $450 respectively.
- Have loose mag inserts for; $100.
-- 6.5-284
-- 7x57, 7.5x55
-- 8 x 68, 9.3x64, 6.5 x 68, 375HH
That first one or last one sounds like it might be alright but I'll let you do some homework on that as i don't have a 6.5PRC round to hand.
Cheers
Joel
Do actually have the last remaining new 300 Win Mag barrel (with mag insert) here also. Has to go as a set.
Real shame Blaser are no longer making R93 barrels etc.
Cheers
Joel
Blaser is well proven but i’m still a sucker for an all ‘steel’ rifle. I bought a Heym SR30 straight pull and happy with the ball bearing bolt lock up technology. But rimfires?

Sorry I don't know anything about the 6.5PRC. Y might need to compare a few cartridge diagrams.
Ian at Forgotten Weapons did a quick intro to the straight pull SR30, this one in .300 win mag.
