Yes the 35 cal is an excellent choice people seem to forget that in the Black powder era bullet diameter was important as velocity was only 1500fps or less
The .35 cal was used as a small game cartridge the same as the .22rf is now it is only since smokeless powder that the .22rf has taken over from the .35 as a target
round even the Europeans used 8mm to 9.5mm black powder cartridges for target shooting/small game.

30cal subs are considerably more quiet than 44cal subs but the 44 is quite a bit more quiet than 450bm so I quite like the 44 as a good compromise that still puts big holes in things

I’m looking forward to what the 8.6 creed/blackout with fast twists turn out but as a set and forget 44 is better again If we can get a lead hollow point like an overgrown version of the 155 30cal lead cast as they are deadly and make things super economical

My bad for not clarifying, the load I posted above was for the .44 Mag.
I found that the 180 grain projectiles pushed hard were more effective than the heavier projectiles, and in my Marlin, that load would shoot 1 1/2" or better three shot groups at 100. I could usually get two holes to touch, but could never quite achieve a clover leaf. Its a hot load, and very snappy on the recoil. Factory hard/checkered butt plate would rub the skin off your shoulder.

The only outfit that makes the 45 HP mold I want has gone missing may have go for a heavier HP than I wanted,
I think a 30/30 will come first getting more requests for that than the .45 sorry children

do the 260gr shoot OK at subsonic speeds? rossi 44 mag loaded to 1000fps? Will they expand?
If you can't kill it with bullets, dont f*ck with it.

Yes they expand; they are very soft from feedback from people that use them they don't exit pigs where the 280 FP does

Bit of an update found a DPT 44cal suppressor with 14x1 thread pitch. @Friwi the barrel diameter at the planned cutting point is 21mm, will that pitch work? they also have a 45cal suppressor 1/2x20.

Powder wise all I could find was APS350, APS450, AP100, Clays and Lil gun for full noise loads. Any of these stand out?

What I would really love is a scaled up version of the Winchester 22 HP Subsonic bullet. If that bullet weighed 350 gr and was made of the same lead mix as the Ausi Winny it would be the ultimate. I used Greenhills formula to check against the estimated length and it works

And .44's are not quiet well mine isn't Loaded 6 grains of Traill Boss with the 280 gr sounded like a STD velocity .22Rf
drop from 50m to 100m was 600 mm and accuracy was non existent ,
With the soft lead I use and a velocity over 1200 fps they will expand ok 1500fps is attainable with a 250 grain cast.
For 600 ml drop the velocity cant be 1000fps - Typo ??? At 1000 Fps zeroed at 60 mtrs drop at 100 is 100 mill and groups 1.5 "
Trailboss gives too much ES for accuracy

Hi mawser, the 14x1 will work. Check the diameter of your barrel 120mm back from cutting point to see if the rear end will fit ( assuming the suppressor your getting is an overbarrel model).

Lyman still make the 330 grain HP Gould mold but it is a pain the arse it is only a single cavity, to hard to do a pile of bullets one at in time
hard a 54 cal HB Minnie mold never again, If I had a 45/70 maybe for personal use only. There is one HP I have seen about 385 grains depending on lead
    composition
