    Suppressed 7 rem mag

Has anyone got a suppressed T3 7 rem mag? I was thinking of buying a plastic/stainless T3 and cutting it to 22 inches and putting a Hardy can on it. Should be good enough for 5 - 600 yards and be easy on the shoulder, ears and still be short enough for the odd bush hunt?

No doubt someone has done this and could tell me how it went?

Havnt done it but I would be fine and probly get you out to 800 or damn near. I would expect to get the amax up to 2900-3000 without ti much stress. Would be a good allrounder. Pm 7mmsaum hes got a wealth of experience with all things 7mm and magnum including short barrels.

Stagasourus has got one as a guide rifle. My son handled shooting it standing supported at 9 yrs of age. It is a well balanced and accurate setup.

Hi i actually looked at doing the same thing myself. The only thing that put me off the 7mm was the lack of off the shelf ammo available. I ended up buying a T3 with Gunworks suppressor in .300 Win Mag. stainless/synthetic. A lot more choice for projectiles. Shoots great. Replaces my old .270 and i wouldn't look back.

Ive got 7mag and 708. Both will get to the range you talk about but the 708 can do it with a non magnum suppressor which is lighter and will balance nicer
7mag will have more authority at longer range but 708 in 22" tube can push 162s pretty close to 2700 with appropriate powder. Performance vs comfort of carry etc is something to consider. I personally think 7mag is better suited to brake or just fired bare. Non magnums are much more.useable if suppressing

OK gents thanks for the replies. Reckon I'll give it a go soon. I had a laminated t3 with a brake and while it didn't boot it was noisy! Sold it as I want a suppressor and with a laminated stock and a heavy Leupold VX7 the weight would be heading toward 10lb. I reckon a plastic tikka will see me around the 8.5lb mark suppressed.

You should just build a long barrel 7mm-08 on a Sako 75 and McMillan stock. The thing will be a tack driver.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

If lightweight and easy handling is a goal i would really consider theb708. Compare weight and size of magnum.suppressors and performance difference in 22" barrel over the ranges you want to shoot.
