Thread: Suppresser Question

How important is it to match the Suppresser to the caliber. If you had a spare 308 suppressor in as new condition how would it perform on a 6.5 or 223 caliber ? What if any problems would it / could it create or would it be fine ?

Be louder? Maybe not even gas flow around the bullet. Give it a whirl and see what happens?

Keen to hear how it goes wondered about this myself, smaller bullet wont cause any damage but as above less resistance through the hole may mean less sound deadening. Do you have one in the correct cal to compare against?

Have used 308 suppressors on .243s (2 different brands) and it was a little louder, but not much.

Yeah they work fine but may not deaden the sound as well. Odly enough my old .22 Parker and Hale steel suppressor is the best .17 HMR suppressor I have used so far.

Had a 338 suppressor on a 308 worked very well, same one is mounted on my 7mm and still works dam well

Is it the model with internal washers or the solid central short tube ?

I've had or still have the following:

30 cal suppressor on a .222
30 cal suppressor on a .223
.270 suppressor on a .243

I couldn't tell any difference from my 'correctly' suppressed rifles.

I had no idea, what if I put my 223 suppressor on my .22? O.O

That ll be fine. I was wondering about 30 cal to 223 cal so quite a difference

I think it has washers as it comes with an alignment rod for re-assembly. Never taken it apart so cant be certain. Small and heavy but very good.

I have a question about suppressors. Do they have to be a certain length. It seems the supprrssors ive seen on the forum are really long compared to others ive seen

I've got 4 different rimfire suppressors and the parker hale ia by far the best but never tried it on the hummer so gonna give it a try over easter
