Well I'm happy with my Hardy.
The shorter length is worth something to me. That's an extra 1" of Barrel I can keep. Shorter overhang has also got to be stronger when you bash it in the bush.
They have responded to all my emails and questions. I have brought 2 already and will be getting another shortly. Have not had any problems with mine to be fair. Gen 5 and Gen 5 Stealth.
I think that the talk of the DPT having an advantage in that you can strip it and clean them is somewhat of a red herring as the Hardy core is machined from a solid piece of metal so is inherently
more resistant to start with than a series of baffles.
Also should point out that I suspect that Hardy are more focused on their dealer sales that 1 off cash customers, And that's a sensible business decision, deal with 1 man and make 1 sale or make 20 sales at a lower margin. Volume brings down manufacturing costs.

Re the DB scale. An increase of 3Db equals doubling of sound intensity (acoustic energy). A +10 dB increase is the level of twice the perceived volume or twice as loud (loudness) in psychoacoustics − mostly sensed. (Asked Google)
