    Suppressor options 2025 edition

Building up my 223 and looking at different suppressors. Been a few years since a large suppressor review and no doubt technology has advanced in these years.

Looking for a lightweight suppressor that's got abit of muzzle forward aswell as over the barrel. Less forward is preferred as I'm planning on using in the bush aswell. Doesn't need to handle rapid fire. Be lucky if it's ever going to see a whole mag emptied at a hastily rate

    Options I'm looking at
    -Mk2 dpt
    -Hardy Compact
    -Maniatis
    -Kaimai

Any comments or suggestions are welcome

I can't speak to any of the others because I only use DPT.

They work well and are a reasonable price.

I have had no reason to look at other brands.

The only comparison I have had is a Hushpower 300, don't get one of those would be my advise.

I like my Nielsen Sonic 35 on my 223.
Pretty light, affordable, can add or remove barrels depending on what you want.
Each aluminimu baffle looks to have a stainless insert

Freyr and Devik perhaps, they are light and available but not common .

I have seen the 131gram unit in action on 6.5 creedmore. Quite impressive

I’ve been playing with the modular setup of my DPTs lately and it’s a great reminder of how simple and good they are. Want it short then leave it short. Want it quieter? Add a few baffles and it sure does make it nice and quiet. Very handy

I contemplating buying one and went with a DPT muzzle forward with 1 baffle removed, 175g and about $300 cheaper works very well even with 1 baffle less.
I'm using it on my Howa superlite and 30 06ai, I put the extra baffle back in for the 30 06ai.
Still contemplating adding the braked cap, to be honest I just dont know if it's needed, both rifles are a pleasure to shoot.
I'll be taking then away next week hunting and will decide after that.

Currently have 2 dtp over barrels and 1 muzzle forward. They all work well but - I bought a s/hand stealth40 for the 22-250 I’m playing with. VERY impressed with its performance, the 22/250 is as quiet or quieter that my 223. They are slightly longer that the dpt but I don’t notice it and could be made shorter as it is a baffle system similar to the dpt.

After sales support from Gunworks has been excellent in my experience, guys have said the same for DPT. The only thing I will say is it can be a pain in the arse for a North Is person shipping south and probably vice versa, so I would tend to agree with the comment go for a supplier closer to home for you.

From a performance perspective, a modern suppressor of any brand will be a hell of a lot better than none. There are obvious detail differences between the brands but for performance they are all a vast step forwards from no suppressor and in reality the majority of models are within cooey of each other on the rifle.

I've also got a dpt muzzle forward on my 223. Came with 5 baffles but I only use 3 and don't notice the difference hunting. I'm sure even just one would be miles better than minus a suppressor. Light enough I barely notice it being there

Ive use 3 differant Hardy ones, A stealth that moves between my bolt action 243 and son's 223 with a differant bush and a compact on what was my Dad's 243 lever and a compact on my 358 lever. Really happy with them, no issues, definitly better that the no name brands 2 mates have on package guns.
