The Sonic 35 is a perfect match for a .223. We have one on a club gun and I am impressed how quiet it is.

Aimsport from Sweden is a good suppressor. Have one on my 6.5CM and it is noticeably quieter to the ear than my 16" barreled 223 with either a Nielson Sonic 35 or Gunworks suppressor fitted and both of these are good units. Have noticed this when running side by side on the farm and at rifle range ( 300 & 600 yard ) where others have said same thing.

Looking for a lightweight suppressor that's got abit of muzzle forward aswell as over the barrel. Less forward is preferred as I'm planning on using in the bush aswell. Doesn't need to handle rapid fire. Be lucky if it's ever going to see a whole mag emptied at a hastily rate

    Options I'm looking at
    -Mk2 dpt
    -Hardy Compact
    -Maniatis
    -Kaimai

Any comments or suggestions are welcome
What are recent advancements in suppressor design, you should look at ?

Quick detach fitting to save interminable screwing into a thread
Muzzle brake either interior or as a cap on the end
3 D printed construction, eg titanium

Both good ideas and designs. I wasn't after anything whizz bang tech. Was more after a discussion of what could be out there i may have missed.

Still haven't decided or headed down a particular choice yet as can't make my mind up!

I have used DPT, Hardys and Maniatis over the year, Have to say I much prefer the Maniatis now with the added muzzle break on the end, still so quiet and soft shooting. I see DPT have a similar attachment now but I havent tried that one yet.

Having owned both, I personally reckon the dpt is better (more recoil reduction and quieter)

I've got DPT, Hushpower, Sonic, and some Finnish one that I can't remember the brand.

Anything I replace will be DPT, current one has moved from a .308 to a 7.62x39 bush gun then onto 7mm08. Had some great innings out of it and still no issues.

Many people running the A-TEC Optima Suppressors? They look pretty attractive for their size and weight. 150mm forward of the muzzle is the trick though, the further forward they go the quieter they will be.

    I have two A-Tec Optima’s - a 60 on a .270, and a 45 on a .223, and both are excellent suppressors.

I guess a lot of people wouldn’t like a 60mm diameter suppressor, but it is pretty lightweight and very quiet. I was hunting recently with my son and a workmate. My son using the .270 and Optima 60, and my workmate a .308 with a locally made suppressor (one with a very good reputation). The Optima was significantly quieter than the locally made suppressor.

I can always hear the bullet hit an animal with the Optima, but couldn’t with the locally made suppressor as it was just too loud.

I've got a few different makes. Atec optima 45 on a short barreled lightweight kimber 308 and I can see my shots hit target. Really impressed.

I’ve recently bought an ODL Alpine (Magnum). Have 3 DPT which are great but I’m very much liking the ODL. Super light and quiet. It’s the older style with bushing. I believe it has a small brake machined in the insert. Recoil is very low. I think it’s approx 90mm longer than the Magnum DPT would be. Pricey though.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Running them with one baffle ( they have 2) makes them 80mm forward.
