I have put a suppressor on my .270. Not only has it reduced recoil and sound, but it appears to baffle (pun intended) the deer a little too. Went in last weekend, two deer came out on the slip. I popped the first one, and was able to see the deer collapse thru the scope, which I rarely could do under recoil without the suppressor. The second deer ran about 10 metres, then stopped to look around. It also got the treatment. Probably would not have got the chance at the second without the suppressor.
It can be a pig in the bush, but I tend to do more sit and wait these days, so is perfect for me. Also, my hearing has taken a hammering over the years, so anything that is going to preserve what I have left must be good.
