    Swarovski repair, NZ Ammo service

So scratches appeared around the periphery on the ocular lens of one of my Z5's.

It wasn't through mishandling, I think it may have been caused in transit from the cloth factory scope cover that has a pull tab on the back. It is secured through an eyelet, and has a pad that sits against the lens.

I couldn't remember whether it was an eBay purchase, or second hand from here, I definitely didn't buy it new.

Any hoo I rang NZ Ammo, sent it to them, they got it away to the factory in Austria.

I just received the invoice, $130.00 NZ for return freight, GST, and " replace Ocular Lens " !!.

To the wowsers that say NZ agents won't stand behind product not bought here, just shows that some do, to stand behind the brand.

So a big to Swarovski and another to JP Klaus at NZ Ammo.

Huh? I've enquired direct to Swarovski before, they've redirected me to NZ Ammo. They sent it to Swarovski.

I paid $130.00 NZ for return freight AND replacement of the ocular lens, which was not a warranty job.... How can that not be good?

That's a good price I sent one direct once and it cost a lot more than that although they did replace both lenses.

Mate of mine approached them with a non warranty Swaro job. They quoted 130 but wouldn't clarify whether that was just their charge for the service provided and what further costs there would be once the repair was completed. He didn't proceed.

Sort of hard to give a firm quote from the other side of the world I 'spose, tho a ballpark figure might have helped your mate.

I always register s/n's for warranty purposes for the likes of these scopes....all they have to do is check me out to see what my son and I have in the way of their scopes and RF binos.

Plus we always flick them a few "product placement" pictures of anything half decent shot, him with a nice Cham forthem to drool over and me with the odd Sika, maybe a bit of brand loyalty paid off?

Totally agree, that was a good Resolve, @kawhia have you had a quote to send a scope over there?? https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/rate-...im_type=parcel

Cheapest option 1 way is $57. Then i guess return is another $57 so if my math is right and this was the method then it was $114 for freight and $16 for a new lense (or beers for JP)

Yes good guys to deal with. They call a spade a spade but stand buy their gear, and very knowledgable guys all round
