Good on ya Phil. Great caliber and the rifle looks mint.
Jesus, @Phil_H, I hope your Sharon isn't my sister Sharon. If she is, you'd better sleep with the damn rifle under the mattress, and maybe the Baikal under your pillow. There WOULD be consequences .
Used to be a fine wine - now I'm vinegar.
Congrats! Nice rifle and good price it seems. I'll watch progress with interest. I picked up my CZ 6.5x55 just before L4. Have made up some loads but no way of shooting it yet. I suspect you'll get to shoot yours first. Think of us poor Awklanders when you are next out sniffing fresh burned powder lol
I know a lot but it seems less every day...
Due to the exorbitant cost of reloading components, warning shots will not be given.
Swedish 6.5x55 now sold & picked up.
Thank you all for your feedback & support.
Cheers
Carlo
Greetings All,
This thread has been an interesting tale. Many years ago an evil person in a gun shop gave me a Norma ammo catalogue. After perusing the ballistic tables I formed the opinion that the 6.5x55 was a damned good cartridge. I lusted after one for years until I bought a M38, slightly sporterised, from a work colleague. No new rifles in the calibre were available. I trimmed the stock down a bit, fitted bases and a scope and a friend fitted a new bolt handle. Later I fitted a Dayton Traister cock on opening kit and trigger. The lust for a new one persisted until I found that The Tikka T3 was available in 6.5x55. Now I have 2 and neither is going anywhere.
Regards Grandpamac.
Thats a nice rifle Phil, well done and enjoy.
