Thread: T2 Terminator Muzzle Break mini review

Let me start off by saying I have never been a lover of medium to high recoiling rifles and much prefer softer shooters.

I decided to buy a 7mmRemMag for shooting past 300m as my 6.5x55 was such a sweet shooter for anything under that --- and who doesn't want more rifles.

The toss up between a DPT can and Muzzle Brake was done - I use a DPT can on my .223 and 6.5.

DPT Can:

Quieter, multiple shots at game possible
Slight recoil reduction

Heavier
More expensive

Muzzle brake
+'s
Lighter and much more compact.
Follow up shots possible with out wrecking it (compared to a Can)
Terminator sounds cool
Higher recoil reduction

The Muzzle brake won the duel in my mind, I spoke to @Kiwi Greg who sorted me out with the right advice, I dropped the rifle in at the smith on Wednesday and it was done the next day, off to the range after skiving off work early today.

First shot -- wow, What a difference this brake makes. Literately feels softer than my CZ 223 does to shoot.
Zero muzzle climb and very little ground disturbance. I use a pair of ear muffs which I shot the rifle with before the brake was fitted and I don't think its any louder. I fired 10 shots before calling it quits and it felt like I was yet to pick up a rifle and take a shot - it was that soft shooting.

If you are considering the two options I would say there is only one way to go for a magnum.

I haven't shown any groups as I'm still doing load dev for my Mag but suffice to say it will only improve any groups I would have normally shot otherwise due to the lack of recoil.

Cheers. Without a doubt all reviews ive ever heard about the T1/2/3 breaks etc are they awesome and prob the best out there.

Had a T2 on 7mm mag which turned in to a 7 RUM. Very impressive.

Ignore the green on the brass, its my green "RL" ammo cases reflecting.

There is only one negative (and the main reason I don't leave my T2 fitted permanently).

Dog does not like it (and neither do I if I don't get my muffs on in time) but other than that totally and utterly bloody fantastic piece of kit

@Timmay I'm with you on this. I had a brake that sounds similar to the one @Gibo has on my previous rifle. When I had my 7-375 built I bought a T2 brake off @Kiwi Greg and couldn't believe the difference between the 2 brakes it was like day and night. Can't recommend them highly enough. @Gibo you need one.....that's my 2 cents worth.

@Kiwi Greg, thanks again, I can't get over how much of a pussy cat this thing is to shoot now.

After sighting in at the range with the new Zeiss I headed to the inlaws - they have a pest problem I was happy to help with - First 2 shots fired in anger = 2 kills.

3 deer @ 400m LOS @ 10 power









A few lessons learned, I guessed the wind first time round, then under adjusted it because I thought I overestimated = go with your gut - The first shot was through the neck, second shot was tail end of the lungs but blew a fair size out the other lung so still went down well.

I have lots to learn about LR shooting.
