Sounds a bit odd. Maybe set up more for production work and dont want one offs.
I can recommend Zac at north Canterbury gunsmiths on the Christchurch side of Rangoon (Rangiora).
unless he is super busy I cant imagine why he wouldnt
Xyon, I cant help with any suggestions, but would you be so kind as to tell us what make and maybe model the target rifle is?

I suspected as much. Smiths would prefer not to drill and tap these because of the hardening. If your mate would ever consider selling, please let me know?

The barrel(Krieger) is still in perfect nick, it was fitted in 1996 according to the engraving on the barrel.
