Put a fired case in the chamber problem solved.

Always taped. Now that it’s mentioned not so much with suppressed rifles. Most probably still should do it.

Definitely blows off before the projectile even gets to it
There is gas that leaks arround the bullet no matter how good your barrel is
This gas is enough to blow the tape off
Use Electrical tape put one layer only over the muzzle
Then a few wraps arround the barrel to hold it on
Completely safe and will not damage anything or affect accuracy
Been a while since I read the arms code but I think I remember it even mentions it in there as a way to Prevent accidentally obstructing your barrel while hunting
Unsure about hunting suppressed if it’s a good idea or not @DPT might be able to shead some light on the affect of tape over the Suppressor
Greg Duley recommends that you do not put tape on your suppresser, cause in a suppresser the bullet will hit the tape before any compressed air, because thats how a suppresser works . Potentially it could change your POI, probably ok for a close range shot.
A normal barrel with no can yeah always put tape on
It's amazing what you can find on this forum.
