    Telescopic stock - fixed

I couldn't find any clear indication anywhere of the legal side of having a telescopic stock (fixed, so therefore is isn' telescopic??) to make the LOP a little shorter than the current set up.

i should note the new Benelli MR1 factory stock i'm looking at, has got a pistol grip as well, but that is a grey area at the moment.

The arms code indicates that telescopic is MSSA, but then it also states the pistol grip is MSSA, which was overruled i believe "for the time being"

A fixed telescopic stock that is bolted is no longer telescopic in my eyes as it is fixed, your view....

Of course, i have to make sure it is longer than the 762mm.

Maybe i should contact the arms officer and have a chat?

Just wanted to get your views, just because i can justify it, doesn't make it legal.

    Cheers

You just can't import them to fix to length. Customs have been told to seize any collapseable stocks.

    If it's pinned, no worries.

I tried that one. Customs said it was a police directive to stop all collapse able stocks

Ordered and should be here mid next week to adjust and pin, hopefully i'll get a few rounds out of it, before these new unknown rules come into play

If the new rules for semi auto's require no pistol grip, at least i'll still have the old stock to turn it back in to a sporting carbine.

Is it mid next week yet??? wheres that postie.....

I imported 2 x tapco stock ( sks and 10/22) both with collapsible stocks pinned and it was let through customs with AO approval.

Yes, It was pinned in Canada before it was shipped to New Zealand. Also I bought an DPMS AR10 that had a Magpul ASC stock pinned in the US before it was shipped to NZ - I didn't import that one but there was a bunch of them that can through in that shipment.
