    I have a pedersoli 54 cal sharps capping breech loader I that's what you mean. Cartridges are fiddly to make and a little fragile but you can load it powder and ball. The fire channel is long and angled 90 degrees so it needs to be thoroughly cleaned between sessions as modern caps are pretty whimpy compared to fulminate and chlorate.
    The action stiffens up due to fouling after 5 or more shots and breathing on it or spitting will keep you going. Comfortable to shoot but there is leakage round the breech as it's not a perfect seal by any means.

    @Marty Henry Musket or no11 caps ?

    I've been firing a Musket lately using musket caps and they are very perky compared to no11s in my other musket
    Lots happening with the big top hat caps

    Musket, but to be honest they're some rws 1081s I was given so they could have a bit of age but they work fine in the Springfield.
    I've got some new cci ones that I'll try next time I drag it out
