    Thoughts/knowledge sought please

At the ripe old age of 60 with chronic fatigue and needing 2 knee replacements time is not on my side.
I would like to build a custom rifle that will see me out and ised only by me.
Have a couple of 308 rifles that mayes/ young adults use.
Thinking 243 as most of my deer shooting is under 250 yards bit I might shoot a fallow a bit further.
    Prerequisites and non negotiable are
Stainless barrel ceracoted, carbon stock and detachable mag.
Have tikkas and dont want another.
Was thinking true flight barre so there also l as dont want to deal with hardys.
There goes the option of a hitech stock as well.
Circa 4 to 5 k and expection half moa at 100.

this rifle will be special...so find something special.....sako in .243w an old gal that has done the hard yards... if you have a .243 and its not a half inch grouping rifle, there is something weird going on,its one cartridge that always seems to be accurate......
if you find one prebutchered the option to fit a suppressor is a very good one.
that said I cant fault my Howa..... once the lovely walnut stock went on it suddenly came to life...stainless and walnut looks good.

Barrel is as thick as a small truck axle.
Would suit someone range shooting more than me.

so pull it back off trademe...and rebarrel it with something slimmer...suppress it and be happy. sell the heavy barrel off to recoup some funds...

I considered that but add 2.5 k for stock and barrel and its over 5k for a ordinary sako.
    Appreciate your comments though

I have a friend with a 6.5 creedmore that is so light you can lift it with one finger. Boringly accurate too. Very good ballistic coefficients and mild recoil especially with a suppressor. I’m not sure what make his rifle is though. 6.5 will have an edge over 243 and gives you killing energy out to 600,700 odd meters with a very short barrel, 18 inches or so will keep weight right down. Food for thought anyway mate

I think if you want a genuine custom then only you can decide what it is that you want. Start with your cartridge, then decide on your action followed by trigger barrel stock and magazine setup. For a serious full custom you are looking at more then 5k though so maybe you are looking at semi custom like something built off a donor rifle? Or factory modified, pick your chosen factory rifle and put the parts on it that you want.

Sako Carbonlite would probably fit your category nicely, I really like the stocks on them.
