    Thoughts on Tract Scopes?

I'm thinking about getting one of these for my Howa Mini.
Would give me a bit more flexibility in my shooting.

Are they good? Don't want to spend more than $1500

Why not something like the Vx3 HD 2.5-8 with the CDS ZL. It's about half the weight and around $1100 new. Will be the top contender for my Grendel mini when I get it finished (eventually).

Edit: sorry to not actually answer your question, I have no experience with Tract personally but I hear good things.

Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

No idea on the LVPO style, but the more conventional scopes are very nice. I just acquired one of the LR versions for my 6BR. Will hopefully get some shots through it this weekend.

Is it the form factor of the LVPO you like or the 1x magnification? For a hunting weight 223 I would be inclined to go for this one as it's cheaper and lighter: https://tractoptics.com/all-products...ex-rifle-scope

    Currently have an Aimpoint H2
I like the idea of 1x for Bush hunting but the option of 8x for further out.

Fair call - if it works stick to it! We don't spend much time hunting critters in the thick stuff down here so the 2x is fine for my perceived needs. When I can afford it I'll be debating whether to go with the one linked above or the 3-15 version. So many great choices!

Here's how to use the Googles for better searching within this site:

    site:www.nzhuntingandshooting.co.nz tract toric

Edit: It's being annoying and making the site name a hyperlink - don't click on that, just copy the whole string and paste to Google search and you're away.

Try that and you'll get most of the relevant discussions that are nearly impossible to find via the inbuilt search function. Use the first bit in the dialogue box plus whatever subject takes your fancy at the end - works a treat!

I've got a tract toric 3.5-15 and cant fault it. Had it for a few years and use it a lot. Very good at last light too.
