I'm buying a new supressor for my 7mm rem mag and shortening to 20 inches this week.
It's a fluted tikka so cutting to 20 inches is into the fluting, thoughts on the best thread for this?
Cheers
Nick

It depends what the barrel diameter is at 20 inches.
I let DPT tell me what the best thread size was when I took my rifle in, they know better after measuring it than someone on the internet who has never even seen the rifle
this is just me 1/2x20 for 22cal and 14x1 for all my others i like a bit of meat at the muzzle and it works for me but its a can of worms subject
My DPT on my 7mmRM (rem700) is a 14x1. I can also use same suppressor on my Creedmoor (savage)
223, 243, 358 barrels are all cut 14x1. The 223 and 243 share a hardy stealth gen v and the 358 wears a short gen VI.
My 22rf and the 22WMR & ar15 we don't have anymore all had 1/2x20.
So second 14x1 for most NZ calibers. Unless you have an ultra lightweight barrel or a big bore
