Tikka 260 Owners - some questions

Looking for something with more COAL than my Mod 7.

    Few questions...

Do they come with the SA bolt stop and magazine?
If so what is the COAL to fit magazine in that format?
Anyone know the distance to the lands?

What sort of performance are people getting from these?

    Any for sale?

shade over 2.8 inches for the sa mag. I have a spare LA bolt stop floating around somwhere you can have for a box of beer if you end up buying one

Im to poor to have owned one of those flash harry upgrade tikka's, so cant help with the comparison there. I think I have a 5 rounder LA mag that doesn't like feeding 284's so could go as well.

Did you get bitten having shot @BRADS 260 mate at Toby shoot mate.

I think you can buy LA bolt stop Change-out kits and magazines from the likes of Mountain tactical in the States for exactly this reason - though lord only knows the logistics in that these days - I don't even think the stores do, so i'd dive on that offer from Nick-D.

My old 260 I sold to 25/08 has an 18" barrel and he is getting 2800fps+ with 143gr eldx. Think all his 18-20" barrelled 260s operate around that. LA mag and bolt stop really do make it better. Unsure distance to lands but i do not remember being hindered by length.

I did think about selling the Forbes for a minute but decided to keep it. I gave one to my son in law so I'm down to 2.
You need to change mag and bolt stop on the Tikka if you want to get 20 thou off the lands with the 143ELDX or 142 LRAB.
I have also worked up a load for another forum member it took only six rounds to get a load sorted at over 2800fps and about 1/2 inch group barrel length range 18" to 20" and all are doing over 2800fps.

As above, the throat is longer than what the max OAL of SA mag when using Bergers & ELD's etc. Same boat as your Mod 7, but easier to change. Better get sorted @Gibo if you want any trophy this year

About $50 odd dollars for the long action bolt stop and then you need the long mag , bit over $200and you are good to go, if it's like my 6.6x55 you will be shooting half inch or better.

Old man recently bought a t3x 223, brand new from the shop in a closed box, interesting that it had a long action bolt stop in it from the factory.

@Gibo a friend of mine is talking about selling his T3X, fluted barrel fluted bolt, fired about 20 rounds. Has a Zeiss scope ...spent a packet then frizzled out on how keen he thought he would get.
