Thread: Tikka 284 build - any clues or tips

thinking of doing a 284 build on T3, any smart tips, or things to watch out for ?
How does mag length work out? I guess a med or long action magazine is the way to go.

Rem mag magazine modify or change bolt stop etc

Get a LA mag (30-06, 270 ect) and a LA bolt stop. Robbie Tiffen (Gunworks) machines them for around $50 from memory. They cost an arm and a leg from beretta.
Some of the older bolt stops are solid so you can just file them back but for $50 it just seemed like to much faffing.

I have all the bits sitting around to do mine, even got dies and brass, but have just been loading the 7mm08 long instead. Might get round to doing it after the roar

Mines a bushpig type short 17" barrel, but I'm running the 162g Amax and it's going really well, happy as with it now that I sorted the brass issue.

7mm-08, screw on a tikka 243 barrel and have the gunsmith check headspace, boom deer slayer.

I'm going to sell mine, just haven't got round to it yet. Got a new project on the go
