Hey I've purchased a new Tikka T3X in 308, wanting to slap on a vortex venom 3-15 that has 34mm main tube, and seems like I can find and rings that directly mounts to the action, not to keen on using a picatinny rail to save weight, any recommendations, cheers

It’s a small price to pay for the ease of mounting and the options it opens up especially when switching accessories over multiple rifles.
If you were worried about weight then you could chuck on a VX3 and save half a kilo...
Tikka optilock bases and 34mm rings on top,I have a 34mm tube on top of an xs sako but with the sako bases.
Possibly cheaper options but the rings can be replaced with 25 or 30mm rings if you decide to change in the future.
