Just brought a new tikka 6.5x55 about to send it away to get suppressed . Going to send it up north to HARDY engineering.
Any idea before I send which model suppressor to choose and length to trim of barrel or left factory length?

I have a DPT over barrel, cut my swede to 20" and don't miss much speed - I get 2740 fps from 143gr ELD-X

Cheers ill give it a crack
You have one of the best gunsmith in the country in Wakefield. Why send it away?
Wakefield sorry for my ignorance who is that
Dave Ward just Google his name with gunsmith it will come up.
There is only two suppressors I will never buy again, Hardy and Rev Rog......(SubSilentSupprssors) If you get a good Hardys then its fine, but if anything ever goes wrong their service leaves a LOT to be desired. DPT and Gunworks both do a decent suppressor with great service and I will use either again when I am noext on the market for a suppressor. Likewise Maniatis (Not sure of his brand name) also makes them here in chch.
There's been big changes at hardy's as I have heard of 4 separate people that have as the old saying goes "we will put it right"
Happen for them.
Their stealth on a 6.5 55 is out standing as i now have heard three and shot a couple as well.
Great recoil reduction as well.
There is a reason that they topped the rod and rifle test and that's because they do work.
My two cents any way!

For the most part, the suppressors are good. But it was not an employee that provided the service I experienced, but the boss so unless they have replaced him.....
I was not going to go into detail, but I had a Hardy's suppressor that when used, would leave a coating of soot on the outside of the barrel. I contacted him to see what could be done to stop this and because the suppressor / rifle was second hand I explained I did not expect it to be covered by warranty. His reply was "our suppressors dont do that, it must be the rifle. Well I checked and there are no holes to cause that leak in my barrel!!!!!! He was not even prepared to deal with the idea it may by faulty. Service like that does not deserve a customer to return when there are many viable alternatives out there.
(Afterwards we found the swarf from threading had not been cleared from where the barrel sleeve is threaded to the internals at the muzzle end and was not sealed because of this so it was an error in manufacture)
I still maintain the every business will make a mistake at some point. It is how that company deals with the mistakes that sets them apart from others. And he set is apart from all the others that provide any sort of service or customer satisfaction.
