Anyone know much about the Tikka T3x Ace?
I see they come in 7mmPRC.
It will be interesting where they land for price?

Never heard of them just had a quick google id say the chassis will bump the price absolute laser I’m sure
I'm guessing around $4000-$5000, don't see it being any cheaper than a Tac A1, maybe closer to $4000 but considering a CTR is $2800 these days 5k sounds more realistic.
I wouldn't want to carry one! And a chassis that doesn't fold? I reckon they missed the mark. You would be better off putting an XLR or mdt hunt 26 on a standard tikka
Not much more would get you a nice custom piece.
Tikka are great at ripping off other (aftermarket) stock designs and making a 'we have it at home' version.
Their UPR is simply a PSE ETAC clone (which in fact is a well made, but literally 'carbon' copy of a Choate tactical...)
The 'ACE' should be called the 'DUNCE'. It lacks the features of a competitive PRS chassis (which you can buy off MDT or KRG for the T3x) and is way too heavy to be useful in NRL Hunter.
Length of pull looks ridiculous (as most poorly designed chassis fail to consider the rear buttstock extension).
But then again I suspect their target audience are either the naive, inexperienced or outright foolish who buy things like the TAC A1 or S20 Precision.
It's the Beretta model. Make product more expensive by adding meaningless features without adding anything of real value.
Like what?
The only feature on the chassis that looks a bit weird is the internal weights taking up the Mlok slots, which I guarantee there will be a work around for anyone wanting to run additional weights.
I actually think these look really well thought out, the magwell inserts are a great idea, and the ability to swap forends doesn't really exist for any other chassis with full length ARCA.
The only dud being not offering a heavier and/or longer 22lr barrel for the rimfire crowd.
Many of the highend chassis don't fold (MDT ACC Elite and Premier Gen2 for example).
I don't think this is really aimed at the same market as guys looking for ultralight chassis build, they've mentioned NRL hunter class just because it's big in the USA, it means very little to anyone outside of the US.
If the price is stupid (like $6000+) I think it'll be a flop, but nearer $4000 (completely guessing obviously) I think it'll sell well.
The chassis features put it in line with offerings from MDT and KRG that are $2000+ so anyone messing around in this market is looking at spending a reasonable amount.
The whole back-end (buttstock to grip) is lacking the important features which make a chassis more desirable than a stock, the ability to configure the rifle to fit the shooter.
MDT ACC Elite
KRG Whiskey 3 Pro (just announced)
Tikka
What I am seeing (or not seeing) on the Tikka offering:
- Very small bag rider area (I'm sure the aftermarket will solve this)
- No rear frame to add rigidity (wobble in buttstock is very bad)
- No buttpad tilt/cant
Very long trigger reach, thumbshelf bit appears to be a token offering.
- If they were serious, AICS should be offered. Even Bergara realises this.
- They could have offered an actual MDT stock like many other manufacturers are doing (Savage, Bergara, Howa). But no, the Beretta way is everything has to be proprietary.
A UK dealer seems to think they will be £1,550 which explains a lot (less than the TAC A1)... https://www.livens.co.uk/product/tikka-t3x-ace-target/
Geoff at TheGunRack is bringing in Vision Chassis, including a Vision front end that will go on your existing KRG chassis.
Will give your KRG front end all the features of a MDT.
I have one on order for my Tikka KRG X-Ray.

They are simply too heavy. Add a suppressor as most kiwis do and the scope and rings and it will be well over 5 kg. That is the total opposite of light weight and not practical
The Whiskey 3 Pro and ACC Elite are both over $3000 in NZ, or atleast the W3P will be. The AT-X AICS chassis is a $3500 NZD chassis and doesn't have a connector bar.
Tikka already have a bag rider accessory for it and have said more accessories are on the way, I imagine AICS mag well is high on that list.
That UK website you posted suggests it's going to be similar priced to a CTR, if that's true then these will be an awesome deal.
Yes, but the ACE chassis design is aimed at the precision rifle market. Where weight is desirable as are all the features shown, bag rider, big/harsh barricade stop, M-lok rails, integral ARCA rail on fore end, adjustable butt stock, thumbrest, enlarged bolt knob... the list goes on.
Not general hunting. The standard T1x MTR is the lightweight and practical variant as it comes in factory standard.
