    Tikka Experts...

Have decided to put a Tikka on a weight loss program, and have opted for a VX3 HD to go on top. I want to shy away from (albeit the flexibility of) a pic rail and just go for the best light yet reliable and strong setup to mount the two together.

The obvious options are the dovetails, and the pre drilled receiver. What have people found the most reliable way to mount scopes on the new generation of Tikkas?

(I remember the novelty factor in the late 1980's when a hunter would rock up with one. Now they are common as. Which is a good thing)

    TIA

And the cheap original alloy rings that used to come with every tikka t3 in the old days. I believe that Greg Duley still uses these on some of his tikkas with a swaro z5 on top.

The talleys are good as well, just a more permanent fixing method.
