Hay guys
I have just received my 7-375R Tikka M695 back from Kiwigreg.
It was a stock M695 7mmremmag with Bushnell 6500 on top.
It would shoot 162amax just over moa at @2880.
I 1st sent the gun away to Stug for a new stock.
I went for a Sako 75 style stock and its way better then I was ever thinking, Stug mate you make an excellent stock
It’s so nice to shoot and just fits me perfect.
Then it went up to Kiwi Greg and he got the barrel and bolt fluted, Fitted a Terminator brake and had the factory barrel reamed out to 7-375R.
He also did all load development and fire formed the cases.
It now shoots the 162amax @3250 and easy under moa.
I dont know what it weighs but it cant be much. I am very happy with the weight and ballance that I dont want to know.
It now shoots way better then ever before, I have only shot a couple of groups so far, one at 100 yards, a group at 480yards and 2shot group at 820 yards.
With the Stock and Terminator Brake is so easy to shoot and dose not recoil, I would compare it to a .223 but way more fun and with good electronic ear mufflers it quiet to shoot.
After Sighting in at my place on Saturday I went over to Brad’s farm out Napier way.
What a fantastic spot he has and with his new Gongs set up we where set to make some noise.
I had fitted on a Swavo Z5 3.5-18*44 and printed a drop chart off jbm, temp set to 27 degrees.
After Cheeking my zero and blowing the 1 shot then putting the next two side by side we where set to extend the distance.
We set up on the 480y Gong 1st.
I dialled the scope and let rip the positive sign of the gong move and that great sounds come flying back of a confirmed hit.
I shot two more shots and apart from the group had a bit of spread it would have been 3 dead deer.
Brads then had a shot with his 204 and nailed the gong with ease, Getting the black dot for an easy dead rabbit.
We went up and had a look but didn’t think to take a pic until after we had repainted it.
I shot a group with my 7mm08 (T3, vx3 has a lot of kick after shooting with the brake )
Brads then nailed the gong with his 284win? I think just using a foot of so of hold over as its sighted in at 100y
Then we had a look at the 820yard gong, took a while to pick up through the few sheep that we lower down in the paddock and looking through my scope it looked a long way away until I realised I was on 8x zoom haha, Wound it up to 18 and it was easy.
I needed 14.7 moa of adjustment but the scope only has 13.25moa because of the turret so I dialled that and held over a little bit and the shot went high, went straight into the bank where I was holding over so for the next two I held on and let rip, was going to shoot a 3rd but barrel was to hot to touch already.
It was 99degrees F ( fucking hot ) we had to hide the guns under some shade when not shooting them because of the heat, and brads had some ammo in his cooler bag haha
He pulled out the 204r again and dialed up, managing to hit low twice then hitting the gong a couple of times.
The little pills didnt leave a mark and they sure dont sound like much when they hit it.
About time for some pic's
3 shoot group i shot when getting my zero.
