Tikka M695 magazine release catch issue

    Hi Guys,

It seems the magazine release catch on my tikka m695 has given up. The plastic has worn down so much from magazines being removed and inserted that it doesn't hold the mag flush and tight, meaning sometimes the bolt doesn't want to pick up the next round.

Anyone had this issue before? I'm thinking of gluing some plastic on top of the catch and filing it down to shape until it holds it flush as an interim fix

These guys are planning to offer them this year

Or if you want to build your old one back up Q-Bond would be the go. It’s basically superglue and a powder that sets and can be sanded.

@Fssprecision, what would be the damage on a whole trigger guard?

Probably something that could be printed without too much trouble as well

Would be way too expensive to make I am afraid.

@Fssprecision Fair enough. I would be happy to send you the catch itself if you would be keen to make one up out of aluminum. Could send it in winter when rugby tends to take over from hunting for me.

I’d be keen on an aluminium one.

I have a spare one but it’s after market and aluminium and the catch that you press with your finger is bigger and sticks out to make it more user friendly. Only problem is it’s too user friendly and is too easily bumped and mags keep falling out. Not sure if that makes sense. I’ll try and send a photo tomorrow arvo.

Not sure if that’s any use to you to copy. I’d be happy to send that up your way.
