    Tikka options..

Looking at a new rifle… to scratch the magnum itch. And have narrowed it down to a couple I like..

So wondering if there’s any feedback from the brains trust on the Roughtech or Strata?

*Stocks feel nicer than the aspire (mould join on comb/stock plastic is unpleasant)

    Differences I see are:
Strata has a SS ceracoted bolt & barrel (larger capacity mag not a pro or con)
Roughtech has grippy stock and fluted bolt

Won’t be using the standard break that comes with either of them (DPT). I like the fluting on both options

Any feedback on experience with either would be great

I've only had the std and Aspire and I do like the little cheek riser as the std stock are too low.
I guess it depends on if you are going to restock with a carbon stock or not.
I would go std super light if changing the stock or Aspire if not.
For the extra cost of the others I don't think it's worth it.

Grab the standard fluted if you can and grab a carbon stock way better then any standard t3 stock

I just went through this not long ago, went with the aspire, as the roughtech has a heavier contour barrel which makes it noticeably more heavy. And the cost is a lot more for what you get.

Yep. You’ll end up buying a carbon stock eventually! 😀

Good thinking... I'm not looking to put a carbon stock on though (not required for my NI hunting)

I've read about the barrel thickness on the superlite's not being ideal for threading as they're thin already.. and the above are threaded from factory.
The Aspire does mitigate gunsmith threading, but the finish on the rifles I've seen (4 of) look sub par (Chinese in quality).... might have to see if there's a nicer example in another store.

Can you be more specific about the sub-par finish?

The joins in the moulding on the stock & riser don’t line up and have gaps

My soda straw thin rem model 7 is threaded, as are thousands of others. Never heard of a problem.

I got the Aspire stock and put the standard tikka lite into it non fluted as didnt wang the flutes. The stock is totally fine. But i do have a twinneedle stock pack that covers the check riser. aligns with scope perfect.
