Has anyone seen or used one in 6.5x55 yet? Going to try some f-class this year, thought of getting a 24" 6.5x55 and reaming it to Ackley or 6.5-284?
Doesn't seem to be many actually in stock in nz at all.

Yep a good mate shoots the 6.5 and it goes well.Christian at berreta has either a 6.5 or 260,
They are a nice bit of kit that shoots really well at a resonable price that will be very competitive rig of the shelf!
I was keen on getting one myself but my t3 6.5 is pretty competitive for the comps i am doing so couldnt justify another rig!
My favorite sentences i like to hear are - I suppose so. and Send It!
Thanks for that Andy! Going to inquire about one today at a shop. Cheers.
Chistian's one is a 260 and yes they are a very nice off the shelf rig. I have seen him use it out to 1000m as well. The Tikka Sporters are a great off the shelf rifle for field or 3 / 4 position shooting. It would probably not be my choice of rifle for getting into f-class though.
If you are just getting into F-class and haven't competed before i suggest you get a 308 to start with. In getting a 6.5 you wil be competing against all the f-open competitors. If i was just getting into f-class i would pick up an old open sighted full bore target rifle in 308, put a good scope on it along with a bipod and go and give it a go. There will be full bore shooters on the range as well and they all use 308s you will be able to use and learn from their wind calling.
If you like f-class then go and get yourself a f-open rifle. If you are serious about competing in f-open class then i'd bet you don't end up with a tikka sporter.
