How much barrel at the muzzle is left unfluted on the Tikka Super Lite rifles ?
If you were to shorten the barrel back at the muzzle to just before where the fluting starts ( say 10mm - 15mm from flutes ) , how much would you be cutting off ?

FALL IN LOVE WITH THE NUMBERS , NOT THE IDEA
You would cut about an 1" of barrel for a non magnum calibre. 3" for a magnum one if I remember well.
I can give you a more accurate figure with in 1 mm tomorrow if you want.
I was hoping that 50mm - 60mm could be loped off without digging into the flutes , but if your right it doesnt sound like thats possible on a 6.5x55 .

Ignore the bloody flutes! cut the barrel to where it suits your purpose, I run an 18" .243 cut well into the flutes, I load it hard and have zero drama from the suppressor.
If you don't run a suppressor, get it threaded regardless, the thread protector cap will give you back the fluting finished prior to the barrel end.
