Typical disingeous reply from Beretta. They won't give this retailer an account on any basis. If you are up front Beretta how about disclosing how many new independent accounts you have "awarded " in the last three years.

Lol I love all things hunting, fishing & shooting. I was literally browsing the firearms section of the forum and saw "Tikka t1X - Beretta NZ sales policy" and thought to myself "what the hell is anyone on here doing talking about something like that like they have any clue..there is no "policy" and we haven't even taken it to market yet".
So I had a read and felt it obliged to set the record straight.
Believe me I don't spend my weekends looking online for anyone slagging off Beretta...and no one directed me to this thread. I have been known to spend time browsing various forums of interest though :)
No Chris is doesn't relate to any specific retailer.
The question was purely that you pipped my interest then when you said "Obviously its not possible for "each and every firearm retailer in the country" to have a valid account"
I wondered , Why not?
If I am say a legitimate firearms retailer [ Which I am not] why would I not be able to open an account and sell Tikka, Sako, Beretta shotguns and other Beretta merchandise if I thought here was a market in my area?
That's all.
By coming on, and, as above I appreciate that you have, you will possibly get a number of questions, some good, some not so good.:)
Yes, yes , yes PerazziSc3, let assume please that we are simply talking about a retailer of good standing but not a major chain or large shop
All I wish to know is , is there any reason that any small store not be able to open an account and sell Beretta products, like have a Tikka, Sako or two on the shelf but also have access to more if a customer wanted .
Tell me why a supplier would stop a retailer from stocking the product as long as the account was paid when it is due, regardless of how many sakos etc go out his door.?
Sure no probs :)
I only meant it as a generalization that there are many sporting goods stores in NZ and some have probably never even heard of Beretta so its not feasible to expect them all to keep and maintain an account.
To answer your question, If you were a legitimate firearms retailer, who pays their bills etc then I can see no reason you would not be allowed to open an account. I don't know all the requirements - but i would have something to say about it if we turned legitimate prospective customers away.
I am heartened to see your ancient memory has retained such a detail. That aspect is almost true, but omits all the other things I didn't like about it, which are legion. If the chap from Beretta expresses any interest I can develop this thread hijack at great and tiresome length.
Thanks for your reply Chris. you must be new there. I await your further enquiries of your colleagues with interest. However don't waste your time with Accounts etc - ask the GM.
To Sidney etc - you guys need to think about things more, I have a long involvement in supply chains. In NZ we pay extra for a range of stuff e.g. fuel and building materials so if you want to be reamed like those sectorsfo yo consumers for your firearms purchases then I'd say you are the nieve ones. Our local H&F is fine and I buy stuff there. However it's my choice where I spend my $ .
Do all the old model Tikka rifles suddenly stop working when a new model is released?
Is that why there's such a panic about availability of the T1X? Is my T3 going to seize?
@systolic
T1 is a new line of rimfire 22lr and 17hmr. Not a centrefire if that's what your thinking.
Yes your T3 is going to seize in mid March, I'll give you $50 for it.
Don't the old ones go up in price when they seize up ?
Sorry to say, but I will, this is not a very productive discussion.
But entertaining it is!! Im just here to watch the sour old buggers hate on my tikka  In all seriousness, I really admire the amount of time spent and effort exerted to spread this weak anti tikka propaganda. We owe a lot to these guys actually.. No one wants a firearm manufacturing monopoly, as we can all agree, the variety is beautiful. So here's to all the upstream swimmers who settle for second best! :P LONG LIVE THE MIGHTY TIKKA
Yes it is, Look at what's been achieved.
1- A Beretta company rep has saw, joined , answered, and may stay for a while
2- According to him there seems to be no barrier to a, lets call it a fit and proper independent retailer to have an account and sell Beretta NZ gear, this is of course ongoing.
3- Older Tikka T3's will seize up in March and will be worth less or more depending who your talking to.
5- Carlson has again come in , disrupted the thread, but this time only one person has gone along with the hijack.
6 - You have read it all the way through and formed an opinion, which after all is what a forum is about.
If my production meetings at work produced as much value as this thread we would have then twice a day instead of just in the mornings.
This is fun, got through one beer on this thread alone.
Tikkas are the Toyota Corolla of the rifle world. Reliable, conformist, bland.
Hehe notice my sarcasm. they are definitely second rate to a sako! But I would be more inclined to say they are for those seeking value, not necessarily the poor. (think howa or cheap Remingtons). Just stirring the pot.. :P I've handled many finer a gun than the mighty tikka. I just can't afford any of em :XD:
@TheJanitar.
I have owned many fine Tikka's, M55, M590, 595, 695 among them.
In it's day the M55, apart from the factory offered mag, was the equivalent of any Sako.
Which is probably why they bought them out.
I own a Tikka...not a Bretikka...ie pre take over model. Nothing wrong with..a little on the heavy side maybe but they always were.

Well Mr supply chain expert, how come you don't understand about agency, business strategy, exclusivity, bulk supply agreements and distributor choice? Of course that is discounting the possibility that your dealer mate may not actually have an account and may be casting blame so that he doesn't embarrass himself?
Bunnings will be selling them shortly! Hopefully your trade discount will apply:cool:
@Paddy79 my POS tikka bushpig shoots a 10 shot 0.6" group. Why pay over twice the price for a gun that i doubt could shoot better only to say i own a sako?
I think admin need to change the forum rules to no Politics, Religion and please please please please DON'T mention Tikka rifles.
I can't stand it any longer, my feelings are hurt and I feel betrayed! I don't want to brag but I can shoot fifteen inch groups with my tikka at twenty meters..... :yaeh am not durnk: @Biggun708 is my witness. Tikkas are the greatest firearms ever produced and those who think otherwise are being ignorant. Now, since I was always taught from a young age to share my toys with the lesser privileged - i am offering to trade my tikka t3x with your sako 75 and $500 cash my way. Be quick, don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity. PM me with your name and number to go in the draw. Winner to be announced tomorrow, midday!
