    Tikka TAC opinions?

    I know we have a massive Rem 700 following buuuut;

Genuine thoughts on .308 24" Tikka Tactical?

Leave as is or put into a MDT HS3???

Have a T3 7mm08 that I might put into the tac stock for hunting.

I know of a t3 308 varmint on the market suppressed that's coming on the market soon.
it shoots like a demon as have seen the results.
    basically a tactical tikka.
I don't actually know the difference between them

Gayer than Julian Clary at Liberace's yard sale? A snip short of doing a Bruce Jenner?

Then again likely better put together than the bubba jim bob assembled remmys...

doesn't look like much difference to the super varmint bar the 18x1 thread and the varmint is stainless versus coated chrome moly.
I'd prefer the stainless my self

I think the CTR has a better mag system and usable twist at 1:10

The TAC/CTR barrels are phosphated "semi heavys". CTR has an agreeably good mag system, think you can swap that out if need be, as it's probably cheaper than upgrading from a 20" to 24 +" besides - I may be placing it into an HS3 chassis with an MDT 10 rounder.

Ctr is using the sako mags of the tag I believe. Very expensive and not compatible with ai. But I might be wrong on this one

    Yep, I think you're right.

Pretty sure Atlasworxs do an AI conversion too.

I believe the latest CTR's have a longer barrel. This is a 6.5mm Creedmoor.

To your question, nothing wrong with the CTR .308 and I reckon it would be very cool in any chassis system.

Yup been on the hunt for one of the 24" CTR's in 6.5 Creedmore and with the deeper palm swell on the stock.

Hint: find a reseller that's bringing them in from the states packages 24" is standard for the Creedmore and currently they are doing 2 10 shot mags in the package being retailed there. Oh did I mention they are also in left hand too...

Yup those other countries are getting some nice deals, same with the T3X TAC A1 in Auz, they're getting some sweet extras too. My CTR above has a 22" barrel which might be the new NZ model's barrel length (verses 20"). I guess it's a good compromise to the design "Compact Tactical Rifle". Maybe Tikka should come out with a model called the "MTR" Marksman Tactical Rifle with a 26" or 28". They would sell like hot cakes

I understand from Hennie that he could special order me one added to their indent that comes in every few months from the States. That's H&f Albany. Not sure of other local stores but worth a push. I'd need aspecial order anyway to cover exactly what I want in the box but it's good to know and a good option for us lefties too.
