    Tippmann m4 - 22

    Hey team
Looking at getting a Tippmann m4-22 in the next month or two, but was interested to hear some feedback from those who have used them? Any issues to be aware of, flaws, advice etc. Also interested in what accuracy can be reasonably expected from them too.
    Cheers

Hi Joel, Two issues I have:
First, the magazines don't have a speed loader and are a little annoying to load. Although I am comparing them to loading a .223 mag.
Second, cleaning the receiver is a pain in the ass due to a bit of metal right in the middle (ejector, I think).

I usually use 'Paslode' nail gun aerosol degreaser to hose out the inside of the receiver. This degreaser is plastic, rubber, electronic safe so seems to work well without ruining any finish etc.
I used it lots on my Stag AR and made cleaning very fast and easy.
Just cover the optic lens' first.

A cool .22 otherwise, and from what I heard when asking around they are the better one to get.

Buy with confidence. Best 22 semi I've ever used.

Awesome - great to hear that feedback guys, thanks. What kind of optics are you running? Obviously needs to be fit for purpose, but as a general plinking and small game at <100m distances. I was thinking a low variable optic, such as a 1-4 or 1-6?

Yea perfect. Have run all sorts on mine. It's wearing an ACOG again.

I think I'll look for a prism scope (like the Vortex Spitfire or similar) to go on top - not in the market for something in the price range of an ACOG. It would fit the rifle, and also suit for short to medium range I imagine.

Really like the tippmann, have had no issues with mine and functions reliably as it should. They have made changes in production over time, serial numbers past 20000 will accept more aftermarket parts

Do you know if the hand guard/fore end can be swapped for mil spec items?
Pretty keen to get mine looking like the AR I got 'stood over for' a couple years ago.
