What a good cheapish torque wrench,want to use for changing scopes between thermal and day scope cheers

Cycling mate has a little DTF 50 uses it on his push bikes. I borrowed it when my golf one broke.

+1 for the Fix It Sticks

Good and cheapish as with most things don't always don't always get along together.

I've got a Wheeler FAT (1/4" drive) torque screwdriver plus a Torpedo7 also 1/4", 3-15Nm, wrench.
The purists would regard both of these as cheap.

I also have a Warne T-15 Breakaway Tee handle which they recommend for scope ring caps.
I actually don't use a torque wrench on the ring caps just do it by feel.
Everything else on the rifle gets the torque wrench treatment.

Buzz, the Fix It Sticks probably your best option.

At the risk of stating the obvious, for ring and base screws, you want a torque DRIVER, something in inch lbs, not a wrench in foot lbs

I have both the Wheeler Fat Wrench & the Fix it Sticks, the latter is a better product by far. Specified torque limiters for set ratings means they are consistent ever time, which you can by additional bits for to match what you need.

The Fat - hard to get as most wont ship to NZ or out of stock
So the cheaper one would do all scopes no problem ??

Watch a couple of the review vids before deciding which model to order. the all-in-one unit does not click/release like a normal torque wrench, you have to keep watching the graduations on the side to figure out when to stop.

Yeah I forgot to mention that is the one downside with the "all-in-one" unit. That's actually why i paid the extra and got the other kit with the pre set heads which click over at specified torque settings.

Since I’m a dummy is there much deference between 65 and 68inch lbs?

Nope, and depending upon the quality of your torque screwdriver or wrench it may no be giving you the exact 65 or 68.
3 inch lbs force equals approx 0.35 Nm which some devices will not adjust that fine too.
