Good news!, previous owner of the Toz has found the bolt, and it has the same serial number as the rifle ( they had disposed of another Toz17 and worried that bolts were swapped!). Anyway now I can try it out.:) Thanks to everyone who replied with advice!
Lucky find. Moral of story, never separate a firearm from its critical parts.

I have owned a Toz17 for over 40 yrs and furthermore had the late Paulus Manders a fit an adapter insert to the bell and hence fit one of his own brand suppressors
.Yep shes scoped too and I can tell you ive literally nailed hundreds of possums ,rabbits etc with it and its never ever let me down .
Why i even had parts for a 17 mag in my spares box which with a little DIY is now my stirling m14 mag- itself another much dismissed underrated outfit . Ok since you ask I also have the shorty 16"jw15 as my truck gun.
the TOZ stock was warped so i fitted the action to an old Stirling m20 stock a mate had laying round- agricultural but still bloody effective!yep the Toz stock is still under my hot wee hands as who knows . Its other endearing feature is its catholic taste in .22ammo -altho remington subs sounded like a certain green MP in the throes of ectasy and left a very bemused buck jacko looking at me "wtf-ya want me to put the wicketkeepers gloves on and return em" yup fuckers simpered and bounced their way toward him,until a screamer took his lights out!
