    Tract Toric 'scope

My 2nd Tract Toric 3-15 arrived today. Its to go on my Schultz & Larsen 6.5x55. It had a nice SWAFA 3-14 on it which left my house in the grasp of CraigC for his 300RUM

The Tracts are very good. Ive bashed my first Toric around and its stood up well. Dials reliably and very good glass.

NZD1,385.00 landed and all charges paid. We are taking a hammering with the .65c dollar.

Astute purchase. Good to hear they hold up to a little use, I’m yet to fit mine to my rifle as @Puffin seems to want to keep it.

They are made in Japan by LOW who make scopes and components for a variety of top brands (including Nightforce).

Tract direct market through their web site and don't use retailers. Their service is fantastic.

The owners are both former employees of Nikon.

Do this model come with the optional exposed turrets?

@Beetroot they come with an extra free higher MOA turret that has zero lock, a pull up lock and a screw on cap to suit. I just take the screw on cap off when I'm hunting. You can also order a ballistic turret with zero lock for your specific load but have to pay for it. Its a neat set up.

Cheers, it's good they offer you both options on the one scope.
Have you compared the glass to other scopes in a similar price range?

Yes. My 3-15 Zeiss HD5 and SWFA 3-14.

The Toric is the sharpest of the 3 and best in low light. But the differences are marginal really. All of the reviews rave about the Toric glass but I wouldn't get that carried away.

For that money would you not just buy a bushnell 6500 or a vx5?

I initially thought that about the VX5 too. But imported at the same NZD value the Toric is circa $500 cheaper and you get better glass. My first Toric was $1100 landed against $1600 + here for a VX5 at the time.

Each to their own, but I like the slim 1" tube too.

    Hi is it x42 or x50mm ?
Have you weighed it yet ?

I'm looking for a lighter weight scope, can compromise on some aspects but trying for under 500g (18 oz) but most scopes with parallax seem oriented to PRS target work where weight is no worry. A 1" tube could be good.
